Contract for K9 Vajra-T Cannon

Why in the news?

• Recently the Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Larsen & Toubro Limited.
• This has been done for the Indian Army.
• Under this, K9 Vajra-T self-propelled tracked artillery guns with a capacity of 155 mm/52 calibre will be purchased.
• The total cost of this deal is Rs 7,628.70 crore.
