• The 'Technology and Innovation Report 2025' report was released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
  • According to this, India ranked 10th in the world by making a private investment of $ 1.4 billion in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the year 2023.

  • America: Investment of $ 67 billion (first place)
  • China: Investment of $ 7.8 billion (second place)
• India's progress in adopting new technologies:
  • In the year 2024, India ranked 36th among 170 countries.
  • In 2022, this position was 48th - that is, India has made rapid progress.

• Availability of internet and digital technology
• Digital and technical skills of the population
• Research and innovation
• Industrial capacity

India's scientific presence in AI:

• More than 1.3 crore developers are active in India.
• AI centers of excellence have been set up in institutions like IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kharagpur.

Policy initiatives in India:

• The government approved the 'India AI Mission' in 2024.
• This includes promoting AI courses, special focus on medium and small cities.
