Blood Falls is a red river flowing from the Taylor Glacier in Antarctica.
It is located in the McMurdo Dry Valleys region of Antarctica, which is considered one of the coldest and least habitable places in the world.
It was first discovered by geologist Griffith Taylor in the year 1911. According to them, the red algae living in the water were responsible for its red colour.
According to the latest research, its unique colour is due to iron salts leaching from the snow, which turns red when it comes in contact with oxygen.
