  • It is a variety of paddy developed by the Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR), which requires relatively 30% less phosphorus fertilizer.
  • It is the first low phosphorus tolerant rice variety in the country with a Phosphorus content of 60 kg/ha.
  • It gives maximum yield of 5.19 tonnes per hectare after maturity of about 125-130 days.
  • It is known that phosphorus is a major micronutrient essential for the growth and yield of paddy.
