  • Forward premium rate refers to the interest rate difference between Indian and American bonds.
  • It is a situation in which the futures price for a currency is higher than the current price or the spot price. It is used as an indicator while trading in the forex markets.
  • At present, it is registering a decline due to the faster tightening of its monetary policy by the US Federal Reserve than the Reserve Bank of India.
