Nagri Dubraj is a variety of rice grown in Nagri of Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh. It is also called 'Basmati of Chhattisgarh' because of its aroma.
It is an indigenous variety of rice. Small grains, short plant height, 140 days maturity period etc. are some of its main characteristics. It gives a maximum yield of six quintals from one acre.
Nagri Dubraj is also mentioned in Valmiki Ramayana where its origin is believed to be from Shringi Rishi Ashram area of Sihawa.
Nagari Dubraj is the second variety of rice from Chhattisgarh to get Geographical Indication after Jeeraful rice (2019).
