One vehicle, one Fastag

  • This rule of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has come into effect from April 1.
  • According to this rule, now only one Fastag can be used for one vehicle.
    • This rule was brought to ban the following activities-
    • Same Fastag for multiple vehicles
  • Multiple Fastags of same vehicle
  • Fastag is an electronic service for toll collection in India.
    • It is operated by NHAI.
  • Fastag scheme was started in the country in the year 2014.
  • Radio frequency identification technology has been used in Fastag.
