  • The Phrygian cap is a soft bright red Phrygian cap also known as the Liberty cap or the cap of liberty.
  • It is an updated version of the conical hat worn in the regions of ancient Persia, the Balkans and Ferghana.
  • During the French Revolution of 1789 it became as a symbol of liberty which is currently worn by French nationalists.
  • Recently it has been selected as the mascot for the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics.
