The Tele-Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States initiative was launched during the 26th Convocation of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS).
Its objective is to provide universal access to equitable, affordable and quality mental health care through Tele-services, for which 24×7 toll free helpline number 14416 has been launched.
NIMHANS, Bangalore has been made the nodal centre for this initiative, while International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore will provide technical support for this.
The Tele-Manas cell will connect people with mental health professionals, e-Sanjeevani, Ayushman Bharat health and wellness centres and emergency psychiatric facilities, along with providing basic support and counselling.
