Ik Hor Ashwatthama gets Sahitya Akademi Award

  • Mr. Chaman Arora has been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award 2024 for his book Ik Hor Ashwatthama in Dogri.
  • "Ik Hor Ashwatthama is a short story collection.
  • The award will be given in a casket containing an engraved copper plaque and a payment of Rs. 1,00,000/-.
  • The award will be presented to the family member/nominee of the awardee at a special ceremony to be held in New Delhi on 8 March 2025.

Sahitya Akademi Award

  • The Sahitya Akademi Award is an annual literary award given by India's National Academy of Letters.
  • The award is given for literary works and translations in Indian languages.
  • The award is the second highest literary award given by the Government of India after the Jnanpith Award.
  • Some special things related to the Sahitya Akademi Award:
    • It was established in the year 1954.
    • The first president of this award was Jawaharlal Nehru.
    • Under this award, the awardees will receive a copper plaque, plaque, shawl, and 1,00,000 rupees are given.
