Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and founding patron of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Shibu Soren, passed away at the age of 81.
He had been ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi.
His son and current Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, announced the news of his death on social media, referring to him as “Guru Dishom” and expressed his deep emotions.

In 1973, he founded the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
Played a central role in the creation of Jharkhand as a separate state.
