The purpose of this day is to spread awareness among the people about the existence of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Object), encourage open-minded scientific thinking and demand the governments of various countries to make the information related to them public.
UFO (Unidentified Flying Object)
From a scientific point of view, “UFO” is called any object that has been seen in the sky but could not be identified.
It is not necessary that it is an alien ship, it can also be a drone, satellite, meteor or any other celestial object.
Institutions like NASA and Pentagon have also now created separate cells to investigate UFO incidents and have also released many unclassified videos.
History
World UFO Day was started in 2001 by UFO researcher Haktan Akdogan.
The date of July 2 was chosen for a special reason; on this day in 1947, a mysterious UFO crash took place in Roswell, New Mexico, USA, which is considered one of the most talked about events in UFO history.
Roswell incident
On July 2, 1947, the US Air Force claimed that they had recovered a "flying saucer". But shortly after, they changed their statement and said that it was only a weather balloon.
This contradiction made people suspicious and from here began conspiracy theories about UFOs, aliens and secret government projects.
The Roswell incident is considered to be the inspiration for World UFO Day.
